Macro of an old microchip shorting
(short circuit for those who maybe have no idea as to what I was trying to get to)

:bulletred:*macrophoto contest entry for, none other than.... you guessed it... MICROCHIPS

:bulletblue: It was an easy idea, actually had it in my head for the longest time. I just chopped an extention cord, stripped the ends, welded them to the end of the microchip and plugged it into a 220V outlet. PRESTO! Pretty neat no? I recommend standing in a puddle of water too, helps the conductivity. KIDS.... DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!

  • EXIF:
  • Camera and model: Olympus C8080
  • Shutter Speed: 1/15 sec
  • F Number: f/3.0
  • Focal Lenth: 23.4 mm
  • ISO: 50
  • Data Picture Taken: Aug. 10th, 2005

  • :bulletgreen: Post Editing: Slight hue adjustment|level|curves|tad bit of saturation|contrast

***Actually used a sparkler and held it behind the chip, burnt the crap out of it, but well worth the scarafice! I was kinda pissed cause I was very limited to the shots I could take. One reason was that I only had four sparklers (and I'll tell you, where I'm at, these puppys are hard as hell to come by). Secondly, the sparklers had a spontanous tendency of chatching stuff on fire, and since this was taken in my old man's wood shop, I was definatly scared that the place would go up in :flame:![If your curious, this is how it looked afterward]***
